What reports does Khan Academy offer teachers to monitor their students’ Khanmigo use?

Students in Khan Academy Districts partnerships may have access to Khanmigo, and we understand the need for teachers to monitor how their students are interacting with the tool. This article is to outline the places across Khan Academy to do just that! 

There are 4 buckets of Khanmigo-related reporting for teachers on Khan Academy: 

  1. Khanmigo Usage and Activity Reports:
    • These show all Khanmigo usage across Khan Academy, independent of whether it was assigned to the student or not.
    • Location: Class Dashboard on a Khan Academy Districts-synced class in the “Khanmigo” section 

  1. Reports on Khanmigo activities you’ve assigned to students:
    • Teachers can create custom assignments for student interaction with Khanmigo and track completion and submission details.
    • Location: Class Dashboard in the Assignments: Manage + Scores sections

  1. Khanmigo Teacher Tools: 
    • Two of the Khanmigo Teacher Tools are able to offer insights into your students’ work on Khan Academy.
    • Class Snapshot: this activity offers data on how your students have been working on Khan Academy as a whole. If your students have been working with Khanmigo, the Learning Time and Assignments sections may include Khanmigo usage. 
    • Summarize Student Chat History: This offers insights about what topics a student discussed with Khanmigo (e.g., spider legs, multiplication)  
    • Location: Khanmigo Teacher Tools page
  2. Individual student chat history: 
    • If you’d like to see all the full conversations your students have had with Khanmigo, you can always navigate to their full Chat History page. 
    • Location: from your Teacher or Class Dashboard, click the “Students” link, then click on an individual student’s name.
    • As a reminder: teachers always get emailed when a student's conversation gets flagged with the Khanmigo moderation system. Administrators may also be contacted if the conversation is at a higher severity level.
