What happens when I switch from Enterprise to Enterprise Starter Khan Academy Districts?
If your organization is moving from the Khan Academy Districts (KAD) Enterprise plan to Enterprise Starter, there are a few important changes to know about roster management, existing student data and classes.
When can I sign up for Enterprise Starter?
Once your Enterprise contract has expired and your organization has been fully downgraded, you can sign up for Enterprise Starter from the Khan Academy for Schools pricing page.
What happens to my school’s data when I switch?
Here’s what happens after you transition from Enterprise to Enterprise Starter KAD:
-
Not deleted:
- Existing Khan Academy accounts that were made during your Enterprise contract
- Student Mastery progress data on those existing accounts
-
Deleted:
- Existing classes and their assignments
- Existing data on your administrator reports
What other changes should we be aware of when switching to Enterprise Starter?
Below are the key facts to know:
Users must be added to your organization’s roster manually
- Enterprise Starter does not include automatic roster syncing through Clever or ClassLink.
- The original admin who buys the Enterprise Starter plan adds other administrators, and then any administrator can add teachers to the roster.
- Teachers then create classes, link them to the district, and add students to them
- Resource on how to do this: How do I add or remove admins, teachers and students from my Enterprise Starter roster?
Enterprise Starter accounts cannot receive roster data from ClassLink.
- This means that students cannot log in from the ClassLink launch pad.
The only Clever roster data we can receive is through the Khan Academy Clever Library app.
- This is different from the automatic roster syncing capable with the Enterprise plan.
- Teachers need to install the Clever Library app themselves in order to sync their class rosters with us. Resource: Getting started with Khan Academy in the Clever Library
You’ll notice a Billing section on your Administrator Dashboard
- You are billed based on the number of student seats in your teachers’ linked classes.
- Additional resource: How can I adjust my Enterprise Starter plan's billing and subscription details?
Teachers must create their own classes and then link those classes to the school/district.
- They can do this from their Class Settings page
- Only linked classes and the students in those linked classes will show on your Administrator Dashboard
Teachers must add students to their classes themselves
- They can do this using a class code/join link, Google Classroom roster import, or by manually creating students’ accounts
