Why are my students' scores showing up as less than they are earning on their final attempt? Is there a setting that I can change so that their final score shows instead. I'm not understanding how the scores that are shown are calculated. I see that others have asked this question in the past, but have not received a response.

All, here's a replay (and conversation) to a similar question I had last week:
Hi Ryan,
There is not a way for you to view which "mastery level" your students are on, but you are able to see their overall mastery percentage.
To do this, please visit the Progress tab in your class. From here, you can view your students' mastery percentage for the entire course, as well as for individual units. You can also view their mastery level for specific skills as well. For more information, please see this article.

Although I see a Progress tab in the class for my Biology students, I don't see a Progress tab in the classes for my AP Biology students.
Is this because course mastery goals are not available for this course?
That is correct. Course Mastery is not yet available for the entire AP Biology course, which means that the mastery progress report is not available for the AP Biology course.
We're working to add progress reports and Course Mastery for all courses, but unfortunately I don't have a timeline for when these features will be available for the AP Biology course.

Thank you for getting back to me. As far as the Kahn Academy's AP Biology course is concerned, I think you have a good thing going. I enjoy the mastery learning aspect, and I really like how the content is laid out to match the newly released Course and Exam Description, and I believe that the format of your quiz and exam questions closely match those of the AP Biology exam.
However, without being able to see the mastery progress reports of my students, I can't use it as part of my daily online lessons. I will still recommend to students that they use the Kahn Academy materials on their own time.
When you are able to add the teacher viewable progress reports to the Kahn Academy AP Biology class, I think you'll have an excellent product on your hands, and I'll be excited to incorporate it into my classroom activities.

I received this response from Fabio @ KhanAcademy:
"If the student tries the full assignment, for example, two times and, on the second try, they get all of the questions correctly then their score will update to 100%.
A student can attempt an assignment more than once; if on any subsequent attempt, they get all of the questions correctly, (without the use of hints or without attempting the question multiple times) the 100% score should populate in your report."
I think Carla is correct. If it is a true second attempt at the assignment or quiz, I believe they would get new questions. When I look at the details of the first and last attempts of some students, I see the same question posed for each attempt. That would mean that they have not retaken the quiz, but have "attempted" the same question (hit "check" button twice) after getting a hint or just reworking the same problem before moving on. When that happens, the score reflects the result of the first answer.
I don't know this for certain but that is the conclusion I have come to so far.
I see some thing comparable. A scholar has three out of four questions correct, but has a 25%. Does this mean she used guidelines to get the 3 accurate solutions?
Yes, that means they used the hints to get correct answers on 3 of the 4. If they want to improve their score they have to do the entire set of questions over and then do more problems correct without hints. When you are looking at their work if you go to the top left side of the screen you can change 'last' to 'first' and you will see their first attempt at the problems.
