Update: AP® Computer Science Principles updated for new standards!

Is the whole course content available in the Android and iOS apps? This has not been the case in some or all of the Khan Academy Computing courses.

Regina Litman Yes, AP CSP is available in the apps. I just checked and the app is showing the updated content. Some of the articles have embedded interactive explorations, and I think that those do not work in the app, but all of the exercise content should work. Please let us know if you run into any issues while using it, thank you!

Hi will there ever be a criminology class for high schoolers on Khan I have a class in High school and I'm having really bad trouble with it and I need help

Kal Concha Good question! 

A couple of the Code.org videos are still in the CSP content, but it was trickier to integrate the rest of them due to diverging differences in the topics covered and the sequencing. 

However, all the Code.org videos are still available elsewhere on Khan Academy: https://www.khanacademy.org/computing/computer-science/computers-and-internet-code-org

I may still find a way to integrate the other Internet videos into the new CSP content.

purplebanane12 Wow, so fast! Thanks for being excited :) I only made videos about a few topics for time reasons, but I've been getting requests for videos on other topics, so it's on my TODO list.

I would love if there was a way to make KA programs private. Since the CSP guidelines say you shouldn't share your program online. I was originally building my CSP create task (program) for this last year on KA, but had to move it because I couldn't make it private.

Evan Thanks for the feedback! I did see that come up for another student last year as well. That's a good reason to introduce a private or private-to-coaches setting for projects, we'll be considering it.

What is the requirement for learning AP computer science?

It's generally designed as a class for students that are new to the world of computing, so there are few prerequisites.

Sorry, what is AP exactly and what does it stand for?

I'm from Europe, is it something only relevant for the US?

@sasha, AP stands for Advance Placement. It’s a set standardized tests for high school students in the US and Canada. They’re basically normal subjects a high schooler might take, just a bit harder. So instead of taking say a physics class, a student might take an AP physics class, and take the exam at the end of the year. Depending on how well you do, these can count as college credits.

Kanggun Given you're already experienced with programming, I would posit that this review course is enough for you to self-study for the multiple choice exam. However, the exam also has a portfolio component - the Create task - which you will need to do in a class. If you are doing AP CSP as a homeschooler or independent study, you'll need to work with an AP coordinator at a local school.
