Mastery sometimes doesn't move the way you expect on a unit test?

There's a few things that may be going on here:

1. Students must answer the question correctly on their first try to move up to the Mastered level. If they submit a wrong answer first and then submit the correct answer, the exercise will not be counted as correct and they will not move up to Mastered.

2. If they are working in the Differential Calculus course, then it's possible that they saw two questions from the same skill in the unit test. This is because the unit test has 10 questions, but there's only 8 skills in that unit, so 2 will be duplicates. If they answered one of the questions for that skill correctly and another incorrectly, then their mastery level would stay the same.

If you don't think either of those situations apply here, please submit a support ticket and we can take a closer look! Please be sure to include a few examples of this issue, including the names of the students involved, the course and unit where they took the unit test, and the date they completed the test so we can easily identify it in their activity logs.
