I'm getting a lot of confusing and conflicting advice on how to assign my daughter classes. I think I set up a teacher thing because someone said to do that but I can't assign her to more than once class there. Somewhere else it said to assign it to her as the parent/coach. Great - how do I do that? Please no lengthy articles or videos. Step by step instructions would be much appreciated. Thank you!

If you're wanting to assign specific content / courses and view more detailed progress reports, then I suggest using the Teacher dashboard instead of the Parent dashboard to do this.
To get started, you'll need to go to your Account Settings page and make sure you have the Teacher role enabled on your account under the Roles section.
Then, from the Teacher Dashboard you can create a new class. Once you've created a class, you can add your daughter to the class via the Students page.
After she is added to the class, you can then begin creating assignments or create a course mastery goal. The assignments allow you to assign specific content items (such as a video, practice exercise, quiz, or unit test), whereas the Mastery Goals allow you to assign her an entire course to master. Assignments are better for teacher-paced instruction that allow you to have more control over what she is working on, whereas Mastery Goals are better for self-paced instruction where she can choose what she wants to work on herself in order to obtain the mastery goal. You can choose to use either one of these or both depending on your needs.

Khan academy is maddening! One the one hand, Sal's original idea and original video content are superb. On the other hand, the parent controls and documentation resources that point in circles ... is enough to put me off completely. I have a parent dashboard. I want to be able to click on my child's account and see a link to his course. This simple task appears to be impossible. You've way over complicated Khan and made simple tasks feel like a chore. Also, you're burying the content in your need to control who views it. Sigh
