If my child is younger than age 13, what login options are there?

• A child's parent or legal guardian can create a child account by visiting khanacademy.org/parent. The parent can then click the Add your child button. The parent account is automatically tied to the child account and will become his or her permanent coach.  Some features are restricted on child accounts to help protect the child's privacy.  Parent accounts require email logins, but the child accounts associated with a parent account do NOT require separate email addresses.
• The child's teacher can create an account. Many schools use Google Apps for Education, which allows managed accounts that the school controls. These Google accounts can be given to students under the age of 13.
• The child can create an account by themselves. While creating their accounts, these users will be asked to enter their parent’s email address. Parents will then receive an email asking to approve the child account within 7 days.
