Is there a limit to the number of students or classes I can have on Khan Academy?

The short answer is yes, there are limits to the number of students and classes you can have on Khan Academy, along with a limit the Khanmigo Teacher Tools and the Khanmigo Writing Coach. However, the limits are quite large and should not hinder your experience on Khan Academy.

Below are a few more important details to know about these roster limits for your Khan Academy teacher account:  

  • Once you have reached the limits for total students and classrooms, you will need to remove students and delete classrooms from your Khan Academy account in order to add new ones. 

    • If you are part of a Khan Academy Districts partnership and your district has rostered your account over the limits, please contact your administrator to have some removed. 

  • Error messages will be shown on both your account, and your students/children accounts. Screenshots of these error messages are shown below. 
  • Please note: Khanmigo Writing Coach does not have a user-facing error message at this time. The 100 student limit is our suggestion for optimal use of Khanmigo Writing Coach for the most seamless experience for you and your students.
