How do I make assignments for my child?

Great news! Parents are now able to make assignments for their children without needing to add the teacher role, or add their children as students in a class!

Parents are able to assign the following content items to their children:

  • Quizzes
  • Articles
  • Videos
  • Unit tests
  • Course challenges

At this moment, parents are unable to assign Unit and Course Mastery goals. Please note that the maximum number of children that you can assign content to is 10 and each class created can have only one child at a time. 

You can assign content from the following places:

From the Parent dashboard:

  1. Through your Parent dashboard, click on the Assignments tab. From there select, Create assignments



  2. Select the child you want to assign content to from the Children dropdown menu. Be sure to name your class and then click on the Next button on the lower right hand corner.



  3. Select the course you would like your child to work on from the Course Menu. 



  4. Once you have selected the course or courses for your class, you are ready to select the assignments needed. Be sure to click Assign once your selection is complete. Note: you will be able to see the number of assignments you are selecting in the Assign button with the parenthesis. 



  5. Once your assignments are selected and you have clicked on the Assign button, you will be able to select the start date and time and also the date and time the assignment will be due. Click Assign and you will be all set! 

 

From the content's page:

  1. Find the content that you would like to assign. You can do this by using the search bar at the upper left-hand side of your screen and type in the name of the course needed (on the screenshots below).

  2. ​​After you go to the content you’d like to assign from, click on the Assign button located at the top of the page.




  3. Once you have clicked on the Assign button, you can choose the child (or children) you’d like to assign the content to, as well as the the Start date and time and the Due date and time for your assignment(s).



  4. Don’t forget to click on the Assign button on the bottom right-hand corner of the pop-up screen to save and complete. Once that is done, your assignment(s) will be all set!
