-
Set up and link your classes to the district
- Click the “Add new class” link from your Teacher Dashboard
- Choose a name and Khan Academy course for your class
- Then click the “Link class to (Organization name)” button from the Teacher Dashboard
- If you already have existing classes on your Khan Academy account, you can link them to your organization
- NOTE: Students in any class you link to the district will take up a seat so be mindful when choosing which classes to link, as your district will be charged for them.
-
Some helpful reminders about class setup:
- If you are not seeing the “Link class” button on your Teacher Dashboard, your account has not been activated. Click the link in the activation email, or connect with your administrator about which email address they invited
- You can always change the courses connected to your classes, so no need to stress about selecting the perfect one when creating a class
- Students will receive Khanmigo on their accounts within 1 hour after they join a linked class. You can disable this at anytime though if you’d like using the “Focus Mode” feature
4. Add students to your classes
-
Option 1: Share your class’s join link with students (also called a Class Code)
- The class code is found on the Settings and Students page of each class
- Students go to www.khanacademy.org/join and enter the class code to join your class.
- Then they will need to create a new Khan Academy account, or log into an existing one.
- If the students already have Khan Academy accounts, they can also enter the class code from the “Teachers” tab on their Learner Home
-
Option 2: If your students are under 13, you can create an account and password for them right from your Teacher Dashboard
- Just be sure to double check with any other teachers for the students to make sure they don't already have an existing account they should use
-
Troubleshooting tips for student logins:
- If your organization uses Clever, have students click the Khan Academy tile, and then they can enter your Class Code from their Learner Dashboard
- You can always reach out to the Khan Academy Support team for help with student logins by sending us their email addresses or usernames. We are here for you!
