Get Ready For Precalculus Has a Little Problem…

In “Get Ready For Precalculus”(which is one of the most important math course), there is a unit called “Get ready for complex number”. And in that unit the first topic is about “The imaginary unit i”. And in that topic the last video named “i as the principal root of -1” has problem. In that video, at 1:20(minute:second) one term comes out. It is like this; Root(inside the root) -1 times -1. But it is wrong! He must write like this; (-1) times (-1)(in parenthesis). Because it is a negative number and it can’t multiply without the parenthesis!!!(All of them are written in purple in the video!)

Thanks for making a lot of beneficial videos!!

Thanks for sharing this! I took a look at the video in question and the expression in the video seems to be pretty consistent with the notation used in other courses.

For example, if you take a look at some of the videos in the Multiplying Negative Numbers topic, you can see several expressions multiplying two negative numbers without parentheses being used: https://www.khanacademy.org/math/cc-seventh-grade-math/cc-7th-negative-numbers-multiply-and-divide/cc-7th-mult-div-negatives

I think using parentheses is certainly a good habit, but I don't believe it's strictly required when multiplying. However, there are other instances where this is necessary, such as raising a negative number to a power, for instance.
