Split-View on iPadOS

I see that I have this new version. But I am not a "Power iPad" user. Can someone please tell me how to use this new feature?

Please answer directly in this support topic. Please do not send me to a page set up by someone else, even Apple, that tells me how to do it. And please do not just tell me to Google it beccause I have no idea what to search for.

To use the Split View feature, you must do the following:

1. Open an app.
2. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to open the Dock.
3. On the Dock, touch and hold the second app that you want to open, then drag it off the dock to the left or right edge of the screen.

How to adjust Split View:

• To give the apps equal space on the screen, drag the app divider to the center of the screen.
• To turn a Split View into a Slide Over, swipe down from the top of the app.
• To close Split View, drag the app divider over the app that you want to close.

Alexandre Chami Filho Thanks for your reply. The word "Dock", even with the link, remained unfamiliar to me. I am guessing that it is the display of the app icons on the bottom of the screen.

Your instructions are easy to follow, but I criticize my own wording of the request. I actually wanted instructions specific to using this in the Khan Academy app. Ironically, I think I have accidentally done this in Safari, and then it was very difficult to figure out how to exit it.

Unfortunately, it’s not possible using Khan Academy. Khan Academy does not have Split-View support yet.

Nonetheless, I’ll do a bit of explaining. In any app, you can swipe up and pause to bring up the “Dock.” This shows recent applications as well as any apps you drag into the Dock. From there, you can simply drag an application to either side of the screen and release to open it as a Split-View app, and release it over the current application you’re using to open it as Slide-Over, or release over the current app in use to open it in Slide-Over.
From Split-View, you can have three size combinations accessible by sliding the middle bar to either side. Remove an app from Split-View by dragging the bar past the left or right edge of the screen, depending on what app you want to remove.
From Slide-Over, dragging the edge of it past the right side of the screen will move it out. You can also switch between Slide-Over apps by sliding the bottom bar to the right or left, or by dragging it upwards to see all Slide-Over apps.
