Learning Foreign Languages on Khan Academy

I'll start off by saying I completely agree with you. Khan Academy, in my opinion, should add language-learning courses. I would not be surprised at all if they would implement that idea in the future, but currently I am not aware of any actions being taken to put it into affect.

As an alternative, I would suggest you try a large language-learning platform called DuoLingo. ( https://www.duolingo.com/ ) There, you can learn many languages with extensive tutorials and practice opportunities. As a side note, I think it would be cool if Khan Academy partnered with DuoLingo. Both sides would profit and expand from that.

I agree with you. Few platforms provide so much collective knowledge like Khan Academy does, and including foreign language would propel the range of students that would use the website. Legolas had a good point about using Duolingo; in my experience, it has been incredibly useful. 

I would also suggest using Rosetta Stone for languages that are not supported by Duolingo, such as Farsi (this is precisely what I have done, and it is working magnificently!). You can always use multiple resources around the internet to first learn the alphabet and increase your verbal ability (often the hardest) with that strategy if necessary. Sometimes you have to devise your own course for yourself (which I hope Khan Academy will lessen the need for).
