Receiving Energy Points & Badges for Evaluating Projects

I agree. I also think the projects should go into a folder based on which project it is and then you can pick which project to evaluate. I prefer to only evaluate projects I, myself, have done.

There's way too many times when I get projects that were already evaluated and I think there should be a flag if you happen to run across something that you don't think should have passed and then it gets thrown into the evaluation queue. Also, people who open an un evaluated program from someone's profile shouldn't be able to evaluate it. It should have to come from the queue, to prevent people from getting their friends to evaluate their stuff and pass something that shouldn't be passed.

I've had the problem where I'd be evaluating something then after writing a bunch of comments and suggestions for people(~5-10mins) that someone already evaluated the project that I was working on because I took to long. Therefore my more helpful evaluation gets thrown out. That infuriates me as I just spent all that time for nothing. I've switched to a different model now to decrease the time it takes me to submit an evaluation.

Well, though that would be nice, that would then encourage people to just go on and randomly click buttons so that they can earn tons of points and badges.

@AlexT I'm sure some people would do that(they already do), but not many would. Especially for 10-100 points. We also can flag evaluations so it shouldn't be too big of an issue.

We could even just skip the points and just get a badge for doing let's say...200-300 evaluations?

Alex, evals are easy. I've done over 500 of them. I have a word file with the comments that come up a lot, since I eval the same thing all the time. I just copy and paste what I need. Most evals are getting something to the effect of, "that doesn't look like food" followed by a list of ideas. It's up to them to figure out how to code it, but I've pointed them in the right direction.

That's silly. I can literally knock out about two evals a minute. I click the buttons that go with what they did (does it look like food or not? three shapes? Three colors/lines? runs? doesn't look like a knock off? and I have comments already saved to a word file so I can just copy and paste in what's appropriate. Takes NO time. There are easier ways to get points. If I want points I go for points.

I do not agree with this. If I really wanted points and badges, I would just evaluate projects left and right (not giving good advise). All I would want is the badges and points.

So no, I don't think it would help the KA community.
