A skill is one specific practice set. The screenshot below shows two different skills:

Skills can also be found on the left sidebar of a course. If you hover over the icons it will show you what level you are on with that skill (not started, attempted, familiar, proficient, or mastered).

So unique skills are the things you practice

To add further clarification to this question:

By "unique", it means that you must master a certain amount of distinct skills. Some of the skills are located in multiple courses, so you can't master it in one course and then have it double-count for each other course that the skill is listed in.

e.g. If a skill is in three courses and you master it, that only counts as one skill for the sake of the badge, not three skills.

different skills = unique skills.

I still don't understand.

Unique skills are like the 4-7 question quizes you get while learning most topics, If you have a crown on it it is a mastery item, meaning you have completed it once to fill 2 bars and then did the unit test to get a crown.

Would the different levels in the DSAT prep be considered unique. Like, I have two screenshots below. Would those both be unique skills even though they're only different levels?

StudyBuddy Yes, those are unique skills. You can generally think of each practice exercise as a unique skill.

If the "Command of textual evidence: medium" exercise appeared in two different courses, then mastering it in one course would also master it in the other course. So that would only count as 1 skill for the purpose of the badges.
