I just discovered the posting mechanism here on the support page, and I realize there are many more features. It is completely understandable that they don't allow images, videos, or most external links, in the parent site itself, but I feel that trusted answer-ers should have a level of verification granting them certain privileges such as posting external links. What do you think?
I agree. I think it would be great if we could post images or videos. It would help out in reference images for collaborations, help (like you did), and much, much, more. Honestly, it's just like posting words. If you happen to say something inappropriate, or post any inappropriate images, or videos, then you would be banned. Otherwise, you should get the privilege.
Although, I'm pretty sure that also has to do with the API, and how Khan Academy is switching to Go, instead of Python.

This is likely to require some pretty big changes and quite a bit of development time, so like Magma alluded to, I don't think this will be prioritized in the near future due to some of the big projects that are currently consuming most of our development resources.
That being said, if you need to use external links (or links to images) in your posts, you're certainly welcome to do so! Those posts will be automatically hidden for moderator approval, but most of these posts are approved in less than 24 hours.
