Limit access to higher grades

Hi Community,

My daughter (10) and I are new here and when I registered the program asked me for the grade my daughter should be in. To my understanding this was to limit access to topics which might be to complicated for her. To me it does not look like this has been taken over to the app. On the PC it shows a different content than on the app. I would like to help my daughter to focus on the stuff she needs at the moment otherwise she is just clicking around and guessing (also because our mother tongue is German). It’s not that I don’t want her to click around. I am happy if she curious and wants to try things out but we haven’t covered basic stuff yet and she gets easily distracted when she has to focus on these specific tasks (but they are essential so she has to go through them).

Is there a chance to limit things on the app or shall we rather use the desktop version?

Hi Rena,

Unfortunately there's not a way to "restrict" content on the app or the desktop version. If you're wanting to keep her from straying off to other sections of the site, I would suggest using the desktop version, which should make it a little more difficult for her to stumble upon other sections.

On the desktop site, if you click on the Khan Academy logo at the top of the page, you will be redirected to the home page. On the home page you can click the "Edit" button next to "My courses" to change which courses she is working on. These courses (and only these courses) will then be displayed on her home page, which will allow her to easily access those courses without needing to go to the full course list.
