Assignments Order (add filters to teacher reports)

The assignments list displayed to students is sorted by due date. Unfortunately there is no other way at this time to sort the assignments. For assignments due on the same day, you can make them appear in a specific order by giving them different due times.

I am also frustrated by this issue.  

This cannot be a difficult fix.  I would imagine it to be a slight adjustment in the code to add a sorting field to wherever the code reads to sort by Due Date.  Simply add "Assigned On" to that line of code, or an additional line.

If this were a complicated fix, I would be satisfied with no action on the issue.  However, this fix cannot be complicated.

My assignments tab shows the most recently assigned first, so the assignments due first are shown last??? How does that make sense? 

@theBabyLady The assignments are sorted with the due dates farthest in the future at the top. If the sorting was reversed, the assignments currently due would appear at the bottom of the page, so you would have to scroll down to the bottom every time the page is loaded. This assumes that you have more assignments with past due dates than assignments that have yet to reach their due date. It would be really nice if  teachers could sort assignments by Date Due, date assigned, score, number of attempts etc. I find finding assignments and seeing who has been assigned what tedious.

I echo all of the complaints here about the random order in which the assignments appear. The SmartHistory/KA modules themselves are very carefully ordered; why is it not possible to implement sequential learning in the assignments?

I am adding on in the hopes that more people will show we could use something better. Since all my classes are remote and on block schedule the assignments per day are plentiful. If they saw the screen I see when assigning them, perfect. If I could just assign start here and end here instead of all the individual components, that could help. If there was a way to keep them packaged as one assignment in their assigned work that unpacks when they view it like a folder. As it is my students are having to scroll back pages and pages to find what was assigned first and are working completely out of order.

I'm very fond of KA and now with all online at my college am using it for students who cannot afford the textbook publisher online version (about half my classes this semester).  When I look at assignments in Pearson or Hawkes I see the entire spreadsheet which I can move, add my own. remove, change the date for just one or a few students etc.

This is not hard!

Right now I have students who are stating their assignment - I'm using Math 7, Alg 1, and Alg 2 is going back and forth and to see what they mean I have to use our Zoom meeting to share their screen.  

I was assured the order would be in terms of levels of objectives Math 7, Alg 1, and Alg 2 but they are seeing systems before linear etc.  What!!!!

When I try and change it appears your recommendation is to make new classes and carefully set due dates.

No, my students have different needs and time constraints - if they have 3 days or 2 weeks not working or caretaking I want them to advance at their rate.

I met Sal before he started KA in Monterey when he attended one of my Presentations.

Get this fixed ASAP or I'll have to go back to using it as extra credit, not as a full course.
