For Administrators

What is the District's International Partnership?

It allows teachers to create and manage their own classes on Khan Academy and connect them to a school or district partnership, without using tools like Clever or ClassLink.

Who should use the District's International Partnership?
Is a good fit if:

  • Your school or district is part of a Khan Academy partnership
  • You are not using Clever or ClassLink for rostering
  • You’ve been asked to create and link your own classes.

For Teachers

Can I change Schools if I selected the wrong one?

Yes. If you selected the wrong school and are seeing incorrect information, you can update your school in your account settings to make sure your classes and students are linked correctly.

What changes after I mark my class as a district class?

  • Your class appears in district reports (if available)
  • Your class may gain access to partnership features, like Khanmigo, in some programs
  • Your class is officially recognized as part of your school,or district, partnership

Will I lose student progress if I connect a class later?
No, all student work and progress stay in your class.

Please note that district reports typically only include activity from the day you connect the class. Earlier work remains visible in your class, but may not appear in reports.

Can I still manage my class and students normally after connecting it?
You can continue to:

Everything works the same, with the added benefit of district reporting!

Do students log in differently?
No, students continue using Khan Academy the same way. The District partnership only affects how classes connect to your school, or district, and how data is shared in reports.

Why am I unable to see the option to mark my class as a district class?
This may happen if:

  • Your school isn’t set up or selected correctly
  • Your account isn’t recognized as a teacher at that school
  • Your region uses a different rostering method

Try confirming your school in your account settings. If the option still doesn’t appear, contact your school or district, or reach out to Khan Academy support.

What happens to classes at the end of the school year?
This varies by partnership and country, but often:

  • You will be asked to confirm active classes
  • Unconfirmed classes will be archived or removed

Please be sure to check with your school or district for specific guidance.

Do you need to clean up your classes manually?

To avoid waiting until the end of the school year to confirm inactive classes, you can also:

  1. Delete an unwanted class:
  2. Remove a class from the district:
  • This is the best course of action if you initially linked to the wrong partnership.
    1. To do so, navigate to the specific class from your Teacher Dashboard and select the “Remove” option.
    2. A confirmation prompt will appear, verifying that the class will no longer be associated with the school.

What options do administrators and teachers have to make roster changes?

Administrators

  • Are currently unable to remove teachers who have been incorrectly linked to a district. Teachers should be very careful when selecting their school or partnership.
  • Can remove students from any synced classes
    • After a student is removed, the Manage Roster page takes approximately one hour to reflect the update. The activation and progress reports will then be updated within the following two hours.

Teachers:

  • Can take away a student's spot on the roster.
  • Has the ability to opt out of a partnership.
