How do I remove students from my Khan Academy class roster?

Updated

There are 2 options for teachers who would like to remove students from their classes on Khan Academy:

  1. Removing them from class, but still have them connected to your account.
    • This is good for students you might teach again next semester, or in a different class.
  2. Remove from your account entirely
    • This option is good for students who have graduated, switched schools, or will not be your student again.

Below are instructions on how to do both of these:

  1. Click "Roster" from the lefthand menu
  2. Select which class, or click "View students across all classes" button
  3. Select one or multiple check boxes next to the student name
  4. For one student only = click the 3 dots. For multiple students, click "Bulk actions"
  5. Click "Remove from this class" or "Remove from my account"

If you are doing complex roster management, or have lots of students but want to see them all on one single list, we recommend using the "View students across all classes" option:

  • Adjust the filter at the top to see if there are any students without active classes
  • Select all students by clicking on the Checkbox beside "Student" in the table header, or select the students you want to remove one by one.
  • Click on the Bulk actions drop-down menu.
  • Click on Remove from my account.
