Why are Khan Academy videos not playing for me?
Updated
If Khan Academy videos aren't playing for you, there are a few common causes and options for troubleshooting:
- Check your bandwidth. Check that your internet connection is working and can handle streaming videos. Most Khan Academy videos require less bandwidth than live-action content, but we still suggest 1.5 Mbps bandwidth per device playing a standard-definition video.
- Make sure your browser is up-to-date. Check that you are using a web browser supported by Khan Academy and that it is updated to its latest version.
- International Problems: YouTube is currently blocked in China and Iran. However, you may be able to watch our videos in China on the Khan Academy website instead of YouTube, as Khan Academy uses a different video player to play our instructional videos. If you're in Iran, you may be able to access Kolibri (previously known as KA Lite) rather than our full site.
If none of the above steps resolve your video playback issues, please report the problem with a description of the steps you took (and screenshots, if possible!).
