How do I view my child's Khanmigo chat history?
Once your child has Khanmigo enabled on their account, you can view their past Khanmigo conversations through your parent account.
To access your child’s chat transcripts:
- Log into your parent account at www.khanacademy.org
- Click your name in the top right corner
- Select Parent Dashboard
- Click on the name of the child whose transcripts you’d like to view. This will take you to their Learner Home
5. On the left-hand side, under the Khanmigo section, click Chat History. You’ll see a list of all past conversations your child has had with Khanmigo.
What will you see in the chat history?
Each conversation includes a full transcript of your child’s interaction with Khanmigo. showing both their questions and Khanmigo’s responses.
- If any messages or images were flagged by our moderation system, you’ll see a red disclaimer beneath the corresponding conversation.

How can I view images attached to a conversation?
Some conversations may involve images—for example, your child might have uploaded a photo of a math problem or ask Khanmigo to describe a picture.
To protect student privacy, we don’t store the actual images. Instead, the chat history will display:
- A generic image icon in place of the uploaded image
- A short, AI-generated description summarizing what the image showed
If the image was flagged by the moderation system, a red triangle will appear next to the icon.
