How do I recreate Khan Academy videos?

NOTE: Before you read these instructions, think about whether dubbing or recreating is the best choice for your language and local audience.

Khan Academy allows its translation teams to decide whether dubbing or recreating videos is best for their viewers. Teams can dub some videos and recreate others, depending on the nature of the video. If a video contains a great deal of static English written text, for example, translators may decide that it is easier to recreate it. For more info on how to dub videos, see here.

Steps for recreating Khan Academy videos	Guide
1) Download the video you want to recreate.	See how to download videos
2) Watch the video and see how Sal delivered the lesson. Make your own lesson plan based on the KA content creation principles. Prepare your mind for what you are going to say.	Khan Academy content principles Demo: How to make your own lesson plan
3) Prepare the hardware and the software for recording and drawing. We have some suggestions for you in case you are not sure what to use. You can also use whatever tools you feel comfortable with.	Suggestions for Blackboard Style Videos
4) Record a new video. Prepare everything before you get started. Be conversational. Use the below color palette, and any visuals that help illustrate the point. Speak your mind and heart. 5) Rewatch Sal's video and make sure you got the lesson covered.
6) Edit the video. Remove the clips you don’t want. Zoom in and remove part of the screen that you don't want to show up. Match up the video and the voice. The items below can only be done if you are part of a Khan Academy language team and have access to the Khan Academy tools:
7) Review and upload the video on the Youtube Channel.
