assignments not showing up for some students

I assigned  a number of assignments to the whole class ( max number 30). of the 30 there are most who got all the work, but there a few 5 to 8 who did mot get a single assignment. can you suggest what might be the problem. Are thers any filters on their personal chrome books that need to be looked into??
