KA overhiding comments
i feel like KA has been overhiding comments. If I write a long piece of feedback it's almost guaranteed to be hidden, and it's pretty frustrating. I'm pretty sure this is happening to everyone, so I propose a new hiding system. Currently, I feel like people can use censored words a lot and they don't get hidden: e.g. if "test" is censored you can do t3st. At this point, all KA hides are either really long blocks of feedback (most of the time) or spam-like comments. I feel like there should be a way to select what your comment is about before hiding.
Additionally if you send a khan academy link that redirects to the comment section (using ?qa_expand = ) it auto-hides it, which is annoying when trying to send someone a helpful tips and thanks thing.
A few suggestions:
1) Reactions on comments: You could add reactions to comments. If there are a lot of thumbs down on comments, it could flag it so the moderators could check it out. (Even if the comment isn't worth flagging but may be questionable)
2) Automatically unhide comments when there are coding terms or long blocks of code detected
3) Instead of autohiding comments all the time, it could only autoflag, and then if a guardian checks it out and it is a unhelpful post then they can manually hide it
idk just sending some ideas. please let me know if these work
thanks for reading
(ironically this post got autohidden)
