How do I turn of hints for tests and quizzes?

One of my students used a hint for every question she answered and still got a passing score. I'm not sure how that worked out for her.  I guess if it really does mark it wrong if they use a hint then that solve the problem.  

I would like to see a follow-up to this issue because it is not true that if a student uses hints they are marked wrong. I have tried this and it does not mark the answer wrong. I see this has been an ongoing issue for multiple years and yet the "official" answer is that a student's answer is marked wrong if they use hints but this is not the case. A real solution for the hints and answer problem needs to be addressed.

Renée Hurt Thomas I just double checked this and was able to confirm that using a hint should mark the problem as incorrect for the sake of mastery progress and assignments.

Are you able to provide a screenshot of an instance where the problem was not marked as incorrect?

Additionally, please keep in mind that students are able to complete an assignment multiple times, and the assignment scores report only shows the students' highest scores. So if they use a hint on the first attempt of the assignment, and then do the assignment again without using hints they may still earn a perfect score.
