i cant seem to find the surface area of cylinders correctly
Hi Joe!
Well to find the surface area of a cylinder, you have to combine the radius and pi, which is the diameter , as the area of a circle is pi.r^2 : diameter ×radius square, depending the given number of the radius in the surface area of your cylinder. when you have found pi.r^2 of the given radius, the answer you input is your surface area of your cylinder. like for example :
Radius of a cylinder is 4cm, and height is 8cm, and area of a circle is pi.r^2 just input as pi(4cm)^2 in your calculator, then the answer is your area, then to find your final answer which is your surface you multiply 2×pi(4cm)^2=your answer, that is your surface area. And the circomference is the given answer of the two suface areas of your cylinder.
