Algebraic expressions: Nested fractions problem
I am posting the same issue Jimbobsjourney had here: https://khanacademy.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360039476211-Nested-Fractions, as he never got a response. I am struggling with the question where 2 + 2/x / 4 - 4/x is supposed to equate to x + 1 / 2(x + 1). I can follow the explanation until step 4/5, as included below, where it just skips the explanation of how you get from x(2x+2)/x(4x-4) to 2x(x+1)/4x(x-1). Where do the 1s come from that replace both -4 and 2?
