If you don't understand a topic at first, don't give up! Here are some strategies you can try.

(1) Watch the video again. The great thing about Khan Academy videos (one of the great things, actually) is that you can watch them as many times as you want. Some topics have more than one video, so give them a try too. If it still doesn't stick, try writing what Sal writes while the video plays. That can help a lot.

(2) If the videos still don't make sense, try doing the exercises anyway. If you get the first exercise wrong, no worries. Just read the hints. The hints will show how to work the exercise, ending with what the right answer is. The great thing about exercises on Khan Academy (one of the great things, actually) is that it doesn't matter how many you get wrong. All that matters is that you eventually understand how to get them right. Practice makes perfect ... or, at least, practice makes better.

(3) If you're still totally bamboozled, you can skip that topic and work on something else instead. The great thing about Khan Academy's method (one of the great things, actually) is that you control what topic you will learn next. Sometimes the things that don't make sense at first will make sense later if you give yourself a break from it for a little while.
