I would think it would be cool if we could design our own avatars. This is my idea. We could program the (JavaScript) code for our image, save our graphic as an image, then submit the image to the Khan Staff for them to review, to make sure it contains nothing that is inappropriate. Then, if their image is approved, it becomes available for the creator to use. I am thinking maybe, to access the submission area, there would be a dropdown bar or something in the avatar selection area, and when clicked, would open a new tab, with the page that asks for the download of the image. There the user can upload their image, and submit it for approval. I know that people might spam the Guardians because of this, but this step is needed so that no inappropriate images are allowed.

If Khan Academy created a way for this to be possible, I think lots of people would enjoy it, and it would give them a new way to express themselves. Please consider my request, as I think myself and many others would love if this was added. Thank you!

I like the idea, but I think if somethings approved, it should also become an official avatar.

That would be awesome! I think maybe we should skip the whole "approval" thing though. The Guardians already have enough on their hands without having to look through billions of requests for avatars. Maybe they could just become one for you to use automatically? Then everybody can get their custom avatar without spamming the guards.🦊

Tbh,

That Is A Great Idea.

A unique avatar for each unique person, i kinda like this. It would open up some new possibilities, and it could possibly have people's user made avatars put in to become an official KA avatar if they choose to.

But it could pose a problem for people spamming avatar images to the KA staff, and it most likely will be alot of work to "judge" a user created avatar considering the amount of users worldwide, if this idea were implemented. But this is just speculation.

Either way, it will pose some new possibilities for users.

It isn't a bad idea, but it is maybe just a little impractical. especially if the guardians are to check it out.

Ok, I think they have all been deleted, but guys.

STOP posting completely irrelevant comments here like 'this is a good idea but we need to discuss it more here (insert link to completely unrelated page in the word 'here')"

If its not related to this post, don't say it. If you're trying to contact me in particular, just go to my sub page!

Good idea, but there would be thousands of students flooding the Guardians with requests of Profile Pictures. if something inappropriate is used and the Guardians find it then they can ban it. It'd be easier.

I am thrilled about the idea of custom avatars, due to giving us the ability to express ourselves and encouraging us to excel through work using motivation. This amazing feature would also bring other pupils through khan academy, to correct more posts in video chat for feedback. This would certainly bring up the population of Khan Academy tm
