Please remove the scoring it's drives me crazy when I'm rushing and accidentally answer a question wrong. You guys don't have a "go back" feature so in order to improve your score, the user is given no choice but to retake the whole course section just to fill in the missing %. This is very discouraging because it distracts someone like me who aims for 100%, and it feels like it's a strategy to keep me in this website instead of focusing on learning. I like this website and what it fights for, my only issue is the feature. I'm not asking for it to be removed but improved. I would be fine with just having it as a form of feedback to know where I am in my course.

(Or instead generate an alternative problem until the user gets it, so it won't hurt their %,)

For example:

Wrong question= alternative problem

User should be allowed to skip the alternative problem

If user skips = -%

No skip + Correct answer = +%

easy fix: don't rush.

this is a good lesson in pacing yourself, and double checking your answers.

khanacademy as a tool will become less representative of true learning if it allows us to go back and rectify mistakes on a topic.

By punishing rushing or silly errors, it reinforces stronger learning in the long term, as opposed to just rushing through and cheating your way to 100% for a false sense of completion on a topic.

I understand that there are exceptions to this general rule, and that some people would benefit from this change. But for the average student, this would be a negative change in efficacy of the education.
