The videos of optical geometry,"Snell Law" show important element of discussion for my project. here some image to discuss with the khan academy community, about i think a really important discovery, Giuseppe Castiglione apparently, experimented around 250 Years ago, with great result , creating a virtual Image.
This picture of the Bronze Horse 110x91 cm, i have recovered from an auction in Australia. As i'm investigating as Independent Reseacher, since 2004 about Giuseppe Castiglione (1688-1766). Most art historians and academic of the West missed a common project. Anybody than me can't track Castiglione work of art, as he developed a very advanced "Trompe 'L'oel Tecnique ". Many of his art work has been lost in 100 year of wars and Western Occupation and looting. This Bronze painted horse, executed from 1735 to 1766 , has a very advanced Optical technology inserted. With low luminance light, is possible to see a virtual image o the eyes. Has he studied Physic too, i possible he experimented snell law, reflection and refraction application. Anybody can contribute to explain this physical phenomenon is welcome. Once confirmed from a scientist as well , this retrace history of Physic of light application concepts. Thanks
