To unlock the Winston avatar (or the "Mad Scientist" meteorite badge), you need to interact with official code in the Khan Academy Computer Programming section. [1]
Follow these steps to unlock it:
- Go to the Khan Academy Computer Programming page.
- Scroll down and click Browse projects.
- Select any official project created by Khan Academy (such as "What’s for dinner?" or "Colorful creature").
- Click Spin-off to make a copy of the project.
- Make a slight edit or addition to the code, then save your Spin-off.
- Wait 24 hours, then check your profile for the new badge or avatar! [1, 2, 3]
(Note: If you create a spin-off of a "tutorial" instead of a full project, you will likely unlock Baby Winston instead). anddddd HURRAYYYYY you now got winston!!!!!!!!!!!
