Can I create animated thumbnail programs in webpages?

The goal of the computer programming platform is to learn programming. If animated thumbnails were allowed, people would vote up because of your cool thumbnail, possibly regardless of how good your program is. In some cases, an animated thumbnail can compliment a program but it’s too hard to know where to draw the line.

Since the thumbnails automatically generated for webpages don't usually look too good, you're welcome to change the thumbnail on webpage projects to a more visually appealing screenshot of your project.

That being said, we don't want to see animated thumbnails or any other thumbnails that don't accurately represent what is in the project. This causes several moderation concerns, and may unfairly make your project more noticeable than other projects. Essentially, the only thumbnails you should be using for your projects are screenshots of what's on the project's canvas.
