Math - Where do I begin as an adult learner?

I am in the same situation as you, but, since I have a good amount of free time, I chose to start from the beginning. "What? Really? I already know the basic math! It's easy!" - you might say.

Well, turns out that I learned a lot when I did this, I was able to understand what is the truth behind math that I wasn't taught very well when I was at school. And I noticed that, you will guide your brain through a very friendly learning curve, you will get concepts more quickly since you already have the experience of life.

But it's not very easy since you might get bored or give up, and I did this a lot. But I finally found responsibility with learning.

If you REALLY want to understand math very deep and be good very at it. I recommend this. If not, you can find some subject that you think it's interesting, and if you don't understand it or you think it's very difficult, that means there is a gap in your learning and you lack other concepts, so you should learn some more basic stuff.

as an adult math learner, I thought the same thing: that I should start at the beginning and just do all of it. I got through 2 years of algerbra but that was decades ago! 

but frankly, I am tired of addition and subtraction even though I am a bit rusty. I do know how to do it. I find some ways to "level up" and "unit tests" but it's not very clear.

I know this is a free site and what I should do it volunteer - maybe once I understand it better! - but all the FAQ and so forth is geared towards kids who have a teacher, rather than those of us on our own and maybe OLD. 

I wish there was an intro to tell us how to nativage. I see "learn, practice, quiz, level up, unit test" but am not clear exactly where I should be in my class. 

I am in the same boat. I am 35 years old and I haven't been to school for over 15 years! Until now, I am deciding to look for a degree in computer science for later next year so here I am brushing up my math skills.

As alphanumeric has said, I think I will try to start from the beginning and work my way up. I tried to start off with Algebra 1 but that didn't go so well.

If anyone has any recommendations, I am all ears!
