My students don't see the sections I assigned

I chose course mastery and started by assigning some optional review topics. I just assigned new material but the students cannot see the assignments because the review topics are "in the way" even though the due date has passed. Is there a was to make the most recent assignments come to the front of the list? If not, then if I delete the previous review topics from the assignments, can they still access them on their own

The course mastery and the assignments are accessed by two different tabs so either should not interfere with the other on how they are accessed. If a due date passes, the assignment moves under the past tab.

If you delete assignments, student can look them up and access them on their own. However, in them doing that, reports will not be generated, since you didn't assign them, and there will not be an easy way to see how they did them or even if they did them.
