Hi there,

I'm a new teacher, and I am assigning a few videos and quizzes each week, setting the due date to Friday. We are distance learning, so some of my students joined late and missed the due date. So, I assigned those specific students the same videos with a new due date.

Problem: When I click assignment scores, now I see multiple columns for the same assignments because I set different due dates (because students joined at different times).

Is there a way to consolidate the assignments in the "scores" window? It's getting very complicated when I reassign a previous set of things to a new student (because the deadline passed for others)

Also, if I delete the assignment, and reassign the whole unit (so that every student is on the same due date) would that delete their previous work and progress? Thanks!

When it comes to assigning work to new students, we usually recommend for the teachers to assign it as "new work", what may cause this situation on where you see multiple columns for the same assignments, That is because, if you change the due date of an assignment, this will be counted as an entirely new assignment on our system and any progress that was already completed by any student on that task will be lost.

So, unfortunately, I am afraid there is no way to consolidate the assignments you see in scores since our platform understands that they are two different activities altogether.

And, regarding your second question, I am afraid that the answer is yes - if you reassign the whole unit, their previous work and progress would be lost.
