Request for Alternate place for Apk updates (other than Play Store)

I thought to use Apkmirror.com, but the latest version for armeabi-v7a (the arch of my device's CPU) it hosts is from 2019.December or earlier (it hosts the 2020.Feb update for armeabi-v8a though).

I tried from Apkpure, but the download from it either doesnt install, or doesnt run after installing (this made me lose large bookmarked and downloaded content while trying to update from it in hopes, which was a big bummer)! So, I suggest that we host official apks for both these archs on our own, so that there remains no problem, and we dont have to depend on Google Play.

Also, the current state of the things make KhanAcademy explicitly dependent on Google for proper functioning. And google is evil, it requires soooo much resources to even have GApps installed. So, having a separate official place to download Apks will remove that explicit dependency.

Please team, pay some attention. It is really nagging me that KhanAccademy is also "forcing" me to use Google when their is literally no need at all. I am not making things up, i have seen many of friends too, whose have installed GPServices, but it shows low on storage and so even they cant update. Please dont ignore this, I am requesting u! 😫

Any news on the google free apk?
I was really hoping on the apk being available somewhere else for example on F-Droid. Or making ur own F-Droid Repository for the apk.
Many people are trying to get rid of Google's monopoly and the current Khanacademy dependency on Google services is a bummer for many learners.

Hey Cranberry! While I appreciate ur concern and suggestion for F-Droid (https://f-droid.org/) but AFAIK, it is for FOSS. And KhanAcademy is not either Open Source.

yes the Main F-Droid Repository is FOSS only. Its understandable that not everyone is ready to switch to FOSS suddenly.

But F-Droid also has the feature of adding new repositorys to the mirror list. I'm sure if Khanacademy was to go Google Free, using the F-Droid updating system on the go would be much more secure, convinient and less susceptible to MITM attacks.

I recently tried F-Droid (from Month 2020.03/04). And i gotta say it is awesome. I haven't even uninstalled it since. (I tried it earlier too, but i had different expectations back then.)
