GED Prep Material
I see several request for GED prep and I agree with the comment that the material is already in existence. It would just be an issue of packaging it. I use Khan academy regularly as a GED instructor and I am working on strategies to make work flow efficient. My most recent strategy is to create courses with a small number of assignments based on topics. Ex: a class called Inequalities (Part I) with 10-15 assignments. This way when a student is ready to begin this topic I have all of the assignments pre-saved for this topic. If a class of 15 students is about to start this topic I can choose to assign all the topics to these students automatically by updating when I add them to the class, and then edit by deleting select assignments from individual students accounts as needed. I think this will be laborious to set up at first, but once the classes are all designed by topic, it will save me time managing assignments in the future. I have a few questions, comments:
1. What strategies for managing assignments are other GED instructors using?
2. Is it possible to share my organized courses with other instructors. I know I can add a coach if I have their email, i.e. coworkers. But is it possible to share the courses I've curated on a larger scale, so that other instructors can edit or rearrange content as they see fit?
3. a tech request: Is it possible to add more "select all features". I can select all the assignments and delete them, but I can't select all and change a due date. I also can't select all and assign to a group of students. I have to individually do it which takes a long time.
4. Can we start a forum for Khan Academy GED instructors to collaborate, share strategies and resources, etc.? How would one go about doing that?
Thank you!
