Why does the new iOS update hide the equation when using scatchpad?

When you access the scratchpad, the equation disappears. This is very inconvenient because now you have to remember or write the equation again when you are using the scratch pad. This is not the case on the web version. The equation dims but doesn't disappear completely. It used to do that before on the iOS version but the new update has changed the scratchpad function to hide the equation instead of dimming it.

iOS version

iOS Version - Scratchpad

This is what happens when you access the scratch pad. The equation completely disappears. This is very inconvenient because if you have to memorize the equation you were working on.

Web Version - Scratchpad

The scratchpad on the web version only dims the equation. It does not disappear like it does in the iOS version. This did not happen before on the older iOS versions. The new iOS update has changed this function while using the scrachpad, it now hides the equation. Please change it back so that the equation does not disappear. Thank you

I reported this as a problem more than a month ago. They said it has been identified as a problem, and then they closed my ticket without it being fixed! I am going to follow up on it today!

An iOS update came out yesterday, no fix for this. Feels like it should be pretty high priority.

I got a new version on my iPad on Friday, September 14. This issue has now been fixed. The version number is 5.1.1. If you don’t have it yet on your iPad, you can get it in the App Store.

It’s partially fixed, hiding the scratchpad controls (color select etc) should not hide the scribbles.

The should be visible read only at the same time as the controls for entering answers.
