Correct answers being marked INCORRECT

Hi folks,

I just had a student complete a Grade 6 Course Challenge with disastrous results. I checked through his solutions and so many of them were actually correct but marked incorrect. Side point: KA is now not displaying the same information it used to show for teachers when we reviewed completed assignments - no number of attempts, no display of the scratchpad working to understand a students thinking, not displaying the expected correct answer etc.

Here is an example:

Evaluate the expression.
Do not round your answer.

So BIDMAS, PEMDAS or whatever you want to call it... 3+2 = 5. 5 squared is 25. 25-7 = 18 which is what my student entered and was marked incorrect.

I have emailed KA twice, a few weeks ago and today, to ask what is going on. No reply yet.

Is anyone else having this problem? I had a student spend a couple of hours on a course challenge until he gave up because he was just getting everything wrong. But he was mostly correct.

Come one KA! WHat is going on??

Wow. That's terrible, both that the correct answer was marked incorrect, and that after a few weeks you still have no reply.

Have you tried using "Report a problem" in the upper right to submit a support request? That can include relevant screenshots.

Good luck. My experience over the last couple years makes me think that nowadays Khan Academy is focusing more on the income than helping students learn.

Yes terrible indeed. Also, I have been sending links to assignments that KA generates but they don't work when clicked on. They just go to the students dashboard. Any idea why? They used to work in the old KA until recently

Sorry, I've never used KA for anything like that. (I'm an independent learner, not a teacher.)
Too bad KA doesn't have an area for classroom teachers to share ideas and help each other -- that seems like an obvious idea for an area in the Support Community.

Maybe if you make a separate post with a clear title like "Why do assignment links now to to student's dashboard?" other classroom teachers will see it and maybe someone will have a suggestion.

Otherwise, you may need to make a support request to KA.
