Black Hole badges

I and a couple other KA users were talking a while back about Black Hole Badges trying to figure out when Artemis will be possible and a KA representative told us there were about 7200-7300 total skills in KA. This was a month or two ago, after a bit of further discussion we figured out 7200 was more correct, and after applying some linear growth patterns I was able to estimate that there are currently about 7270 skills on KA. Because KA differs a ton from the normal growth patterns, I'd more exactly say 7270±50 skills.

Alright, that's cool

Guess that means new black hole badge possible soon! (I think I might attempt it)

Ah yes the fabled Level 125 Black Hole Badge. That would be approximately 7875 skills. Actually hold, KA does leveling a bit differently, so only 7750 skills. That would also mean in my above post you can actually reach level 121, still with 10 skills leftover.

Also do you think KA will move Maelstrom to Sun Badges after the Level 125 badge or keep it? I mean they kept Atlas and Artemis there.

Nah, I was talking about Artemis, I doubt they would add a level 125 badge, but if they do they would probably add a 125 streak badge as well

Also, putting Tempest in the same category as Magellan already makes no sense, putting Maelstrom in Sun badges would be horrendous

Ah sorry. But yes, Artemis should be possible some time after the 7500 skills mark, at least as long as KA changes the currently unlisted and such skills to able to be Mastered. If not we might have to wait a bit longer, but I still doubt it would be too long.

By the way, do you know how close you are to Atlas? And do any public KA users currently have Atlas?

Apparently according to the KA wiki, 2 users currently have the new version of Atlas and two have Atlas (old). I have no idea how close I am to Atlas, but I would estimate at most 270 away and hopefully less. I should ask a KA team member

If the above is correct then the maximum number of black hole badges a khan academy member has (other than Sal obviously) would be 3 as to get Atlas you must have Maelstrom, and to complete Atlas you would have to do 5000 lessons and at least 2 videos per lesson (lower bound) meaning you would have a minimum of 10500000 energy points, giving you Tesla.

Yechidoth Taw Immodicus, its all good and who are you implying when you said "he"?

xyzyyxx, congrats on the 2 BHB's! Hope I could get to your level one day. I just know how to put so much dedication towards this. Its hard to juggle everything. How do you guys do it?

Yechidoth Taw Immodicus, shouldn't you have atlas, because Advait Pillay's explanation alines to yours and xyzyyxx achievement unless you guys didn't do 2 videos per lesson. Did I read something wrong?

Aaryan Bhattar I only have Maelstrom. Also, it's possible to get Maelstrom without Tesla, or Tesla without Maelstrm, or Atlas without Telsa, but you can't get Atlas without Maelstrom.

ohhhh, how far away are you from tesla?

Exactly 3,703,617 energy points away as of this writing.

Is Yechidoth Taw Immodicus the only one with 2 blackhole badges or are there others?

K E V I N is the only other known normal user with two. Maelstrom and Tesla again. Hopefully I can join them lol

oh i thought you already had 10,000,000. sorry.

Your prob one of the closest to them.

Yah, I probably have at most 270 skills to master before I get Atlas, hopefully much less than that... XD

I'll also be the third user to obtain the regular version of Atlas, and as far as I know the first to fill the 5000 mastered requirement

yeah itll be great being the first to get both maelstrom and atlas if im not wrong.

Yep, if I get it than I'll be the first! I'm not sure how but even Olamoth Artyom Tetrakleitos hasn't got it despite him being at level 110, maybe he did skills that can't be mastered? Edit: or he just didn't do mastery challenges

Maybe, but what if you did to?

Uhh I'm not sure what exactly you mean, but just to let you know I did do mastery challenges on all the skills I grinded

Like what if you did skills which can't be mastered.

If thats what you meant. I am really sleepy. I'm not in full focus.

Almost never did those, the only one that I can recall is "Financial Calculators" in Financial Literacy and a few others here and there that I believe I eventually mastered in obscure courses

What timezone are you in? It's 1:02 for me rn (CDT=UTC-5)

It's 11:30 pm in Ind but I didn't sleep that good today.

Well good luck on atlas!

Thanks! And good night 🌙
