Hi, I am trying to picking up what have I learnt from high school and continue to self-study math. I would like to master Statistics and Probability the most, Khan academy offers math courses from elementary level to APs. What are the basic classes/knowledge I should study before starting the course on Statistics and probability?

I would also appreciate if anyone could provide some advise on the order of all of the courses level in math. (It's self-explanatory for course with grades but not the other courses) For instance, in order to study calculus, what are the knowledge/courses I should take first before jumping into calculus? (yes, i study entry level of calculus before but could be regarded as knowing nothing since I haven't studied any math ever since high school). Right now I feel like I don't where to start, at the end of the day besides Statistics and probability I would love to study all math courses, therefore a break down of the level of each course is highly appreciated! Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Whilst I am not able to give you the exact breakdown I can share with you the path I followed.

I studied economics at grad level, so I did learn many of the calculus topics. But when I started to learn computer science after an early retirement from work I realized I needed to brush up my basic math skills. The path I followed was

Algebra II > Pre-calculus > Diff calculus > Integral cal

I did Geometry II and Probability and statistics too.

Once you complete Khan Academy topics, you might find the EdX MITx and MITx OCW courses deepen your understanding of the subject matter.

I did every video, article, and practice exercise and all or most of the unit tests for High School Statistics, AP Statistics, and Statistics and probability on Khan Academy and finally finished them earlier this week. So this is fresh on my mind.

What I found is that algebra, at least Algebra I/1/One, is important because there is a lot of material on slopes and other aspects of graphing. Calculus is helpful but apparently not required because sometimes Sal will say in a Statistics video something like, “If you have taken calculus, you will recognize this concept from....” Precalculus here on Khan Academy contains a section on Probability that may be useful to try first. It may be a duplicate of what’s in the actual Statistics courses, or it may be more basic material that lays a foundation for the more advanced stuff in the Statistics courses.
