Braille courses desperately needed,
Khan Academy does not have any courses to teach Braille to sighted people who want to learn Braille in visual, 2 dimensional form. The only online website in the world that teaches Braille online to sighted people is in Australia at this link: http://uebonline.org/ . UEBOnline is a brilliant, Javascript based sight (it uses JQuery and WordPress) that is very highly regarded within the Braille Transcription community-- it gives instant feedback and adheres to the Khan Academy philosophy of teaching.
But there is a none-the-less a serious shortage of Braille teachers, Braille Transcribers, Braille Proofreaders, and people knowledgeable in music Braille and math Braille. The United State Library of Congress is the only body that certifies Braille expertise in these subjects, and their course work is all via e-mail correspondence-- it lacks the immediate feedback that is a hallmark of the Khan Academy..
Khan Academy with its world class Javascript experts is a "natural" to develop a series of online Braille courses for sighted people who are interested in learning Braille so they can help in the Braille community.
