Khan Academy is very disappointing and unhelpful.

I agree with you completely. My trouble is that no matter how many times I watch the videos they do nothing to explain what I see in the exercises. I keep getting 80s in my ratio unit test over and over again because the videos are useless. By then it frustrates me so I cannot focus, and I do even worse. If I take a break and come back to it after just a few days my mind is completely blank.

I agree that there are significant mistakes in many videos (I am most familiar with 6th grade math), and the only correction is a box that does not even appear if the video is watched in full screen mode.  There are also several areas in 6th grade math where they talk about things before they've been explained, use notation inconsistently (going back and forth between × and · for multiplication), and seem to be just plain wrong with the use of quartile.

There are also problems with the website itself, such as the notification link from a comment not showing the original Question at the top of the thread, popStyle in JavaScript not working properly, and the terrible Search algorithms that only expand the search when additional terms are added.

When I bring up issues to KA staff, I mostly get told that they have a small staff and they cannot say when an issue will get resolved. It's been almost 3 months since I reported that an HTML walk-through transcript about <em> tags has the wrong word ("M" rather than "em") for the subject of the walk-through; it is still not fixed.  (It actually looks like all the transcripts that used to be below the walk-throughs may have disappeared!)

And yet they keep adding more courses.  Why add more courses if they cannot fix & maintain the existing ones?  Why spend time & money adding courses rather than fixing the existing ones??

i heavily agree with you i just watched a 9 min course for linear expressions and equations /w parentheses and i had to rewatch the video 4 times to still not understand, so i search up a yt vid and i found a 3 minute short that explained stuff in detail quickly and told me things the KA video didn't have. It disappoints me a random guy on youtube can do a better job at explaining than a website meant to teach people.

And they always extend the video with the most useless examples. “If i have 6 watermelons, and know the weight of only 3 of them, the weight of the melons that i dont know are the variable!” I came here to learn not discuss watermelon sizes. They decide to turn the question into a word problem right in the middle, which just confuses me even more. Not only that, half the time the question is answered correctly yet the answer is marked wrong, and they proceed to show the steps wrong furthering confusing me and possibly other people. Instead of fixing it? No. Ever day i see more courses being added so i just recommend to use khan academy only for the questions and learn how to do the questions on youtube or school. If you really need extra help just ask a teacher or someone you know who is experienced with what you’re learning. Did it with my mom and it was way easier watching those horrid videos that takes 10 minutes just to get to the point.

I made a post asking Khan Academy to actually fix the videos that have major mistakes in them (rather than just adding a correction box that's not even visible in full screen mode).
