Help! I am trying to get Khan Academy approved as Algebra Curriculum for my son's online charter school. They believe that Khan Academy does not fulfill CA state standards. Is there somewhere where I can show how Khan fullfills those specific standards? I have found the common core, but do you have state by state? Thank you

I know KA aligns with Common Core and EngageNY but I am not sure about California State Standards. I will forward this post on to the KA staff and hopefully have some news for you soon. I am a high school student at a California public school. Personally, I feel like KA can help me practice more on the concept. But if you compare the Common Core textbook and KA online materials, there is a difference. Common Core has more word problems, but the concepts still remain the same. KA can help your son practice the same concept, but the form of the questions is definitely different. KA is relatively easier.

Hello Laurel & @kchiscano! I did some digging and found the following site: http://www.cde.ca.gov/be/st/ss/ which lists Common Core State Standards for Mathematics, Adopted August 2010 and Modified January 2013. When I compared this to the Khan Academy Common Core Math Curriculum Map I noticed similarities in concepts but different descriptions used. Perhaps you could take this information to your school board. Hopefully this helps. Thank you for posting and Good Luck!
