Help Communicating Khan

I am looking to possibly which my children over to using Khan for homeschooling. Is there some way of communicating with someone? Is this the only way? Can I send a email or chat with someone to get my questions answered?

My biggest concern is if I am able to use the math classes as a full curriculum? I keep being told by people that it is just a supplemental program. If so, is there a way to test where they are. They are in the idle of Geometry and 8th grade math. I hate to have them start all over from the beginning of those classes.

As for science...are those a full curriculum also?

Hi Missy Russell, if you ever have questions about using KA you can ask here on the Help Center, there is a dedicated team of volunteers who try to answer most questions asked.

From my experience, KA has loads of Math to offer and they try to cover everything your children will learn in school. Yes, KA is best used as a supplement in addition to your regular schooling, but in my experience KA has helped me better understand math skills more than my curriculum could. It's all up to you and what you're looking for, this article might help some.

If your children haven't started the missions for 8th grade and geometry yet, there should be a mission warmup so it can gauge where they are. You can also try the practice sections for either of those, which is a way to work on all the exercises in succession.

The Science subjects have been getting lots of attention recently, with new content being added. I can tell you from experience that their Biology course alone has taught me way more than the average Biology course, for example.

Thanks so much, Jeff!!! I guess my real concern is more so if they'll learn what they need to pass the college entrance testing, should they decide to pursue higher ed. Traditional schooling is not our hotbutton...we believe more so in real life learning, and a entrepreneurial education. But since they still have to put the basics in...we want them to make it worth the investment.

I'm homeschooled as well, so I understand your position! You should do some research on the Mae college entrance tests and get a feel for what they will cover in general, and really work hard on those skills on KA.
