Update: New Coach Dashboard

Hello!  I am a math teacher and I sometimes have students complete review exercises along with teaching new material on KA.  I noticed that there no longer is the option to have class missions linked to "All of Math" or "The World of Math."  This is frustrating as there are some skills where I do not know the general topic "Algebra basics" or "7th Grade" and therefore cannot assign them to students.  Is there a way to search every math subject area when assigning exercises?  If so, how can I set that as the default?  Thanks!

Sir my son is learning since last 3 years and i also check the progress by mail as well as by login. but when i login in my account and in progress there is activity from daily to no of days. this features is very good but activity only shows the maths only. Daily he done msths / english / Sat / physics / programming etc but activities only shows maths.

sir can you show what type work he done in every subjects like wathving videos / questions attempted.... / questions right and wrong (in detailed) etc (some features are showing in maths progress activity). so i can check what he has done in a day and some questions he not understand then i can teach him in evening (now i tell him to make pdf which he can't understand)

sir just understand my problem and try to findout the way. sir i am also from IT field and also know that my query requires more programming and database storing work for every student. But sir try or think over it or you add what the student do whole day activity (all subjects) it can be more helpful.

@Mr. Bates - if you select the Mission (just to the left of where your arrow is pointing) to be "World of Math" instead of "Early Math" does that fix the problem for you?

How do you assign an entire course instead of each part?

I don't like it!  I use this everyday and have multiple students come and go daily.  Adding and removing students used to be so easy.  I have a large bank of unenrolled students, many of whom will return.  Now the quick search to re-enroll them in my classes is gone.  I have to go to my "All Students" tab and scroll through hundreds of names to find the student to add.  Then when I check on the student's name, I have to scroll all the way back to the top to click on "action" so that I can select add to class. Then another window opens to select a class to put them in. VERY, VERY clunky!!!! I am not a fan of many of the recent changes.

@Laurie - Thank you! I totally missed that one.  That addresses the issue!

I have some more issues.  Before the update, there were a few things I could do that I can't and some things that were not addressed:

1) I was able to assign an exercise to all students that I am teaching - no longer able to do that

2) I was able to bookmark a list of exercises for students to complete so I can check their progress level (Practiced, Level One, etc) - Even though there is an option to bookmark the page, it erases all chosen exercises and I have to find each one again.  In the Assignments section, it only shows completion status (number correct/number answered) and not their progress level.  Some students complete the exercise but their progress level is not shown.

3) When assigning (instead of recommending) skills I am no longer able to see if the "recommendation" actually went through - there used to be an "R" next to the students' names when exercises were recommended to them.  Now there is nothing to tell me that it actually worked on that screen.  I have to go to the Assignments page to see if it worked.

**4) NOT ADDRESSED - When looking for exercises for students using the "Progress By Skill" section, the same skill pops up under many different sections.  This is highly unnecessary as it shouldn't matter where the exercise shows up, only that it is there.

Granted I like the look of the new dashboard and that you can assign exercises from the actual page, but there could be a few more updates in my opinion.

Where are the equivalent tools for:

 - progress grid

 - student progress

 - activity

These are essential tools to track and support my students.

I am not liking this update. I am not sure what was wrong with the previous way of making recommendations, but it worked well for me. Maybe it is simply the fact that with every change, one needs to go through a learning process.

One problem in particular is that if I have a single student that needs to work on a particular set of skills, it does not seem that there is an efficient way to "assign" a set of exercises to that student. In the old "recommendation" system that was done easily and intuitively. 

Also, how does one drill down and look at a particular student's progress?

The most frustrating thing I am experiencing right now is the fact that EVERY TIME I switch between the tabs on the new dashboard (Assignments, Progress, etc.) NOTHING IS SAVED!  Not even something as simple as the way I choose to sort my assignments is saved, let alone the particular exercises I want to check.  I have to redo everything each time I change tabs.

How do I delete a class?

That is what I am not able to figure out.
