I emphatically second this option.
I reported this as a bug/feature request last week. This is very frustrating. Especially when an exercise is assigned before the video lecture.
Personally I think they should revamp the current flat assignment list screen. Assignments should be a nested interface, grouping the assignments together into the units, sections and lessons.

I understand what you mean about the order of assignments. It doesn't always do as I would like. Here is my fix: Give the assignments different due times instead of using the default 11:59.
So if I assign three things and want them in a specific order for students, I make the first one due at 11:57, then 11:58, then 11:59. It will then present the way I want.
