Since we don't have a built-in way to notify users when someone creates a new CS project, we've allowed sub pages as a restricted form of advertising to share new projects with other users. Any user can create a subpage, and it is simply a normal program with a discussion thread that allows users to "subscribe" to updates. Other users can subscribe by posting a single period (.) in the subscription thread as a comment, which will automatically hide their post (so the thread isn't filled with these) and allow them to receive notifications whenever the subpage author posts an announcement.
